                        Chablis 1er Cru

This wine is a typical example of a Chablis 1er Cru. The South-East facing vineyard benefits from morning sunlight and the wine derives its typicity from the mineral soil giving a flinty, chalky mouth feel. Crisp and well balanced on the palette with a long aftertaste, this wine will benefit from cellaring for up to 10 years.

                        Chablis La Colombe

Typical of what decent Chablis should taste like - not a trace of oak, pungent and flinty on the nose with a tad of creamy fruit underneath, this gets richer as the mineral characters give way to riper buttery sensations but then cut back by a long crisp bite. The kind of wine that gets nicer as you go along.

Attractive when young but worth leaving for a couple of years, which will allow the wine to develop some wonderful nutty and mineral notes. 8 year ageing potential.

                        Claret Duboscq Bordeaux rouge

The idea behind this wine is for Henri Duboscq to make - and be happy to put his name to - a straightforward but nevertheless classic Bordeaux red style that combines finesse with fruit and elegance with complexity gained from blending grapes from diverse soils. Rounded and supple displaying some berry fruit merged with floral undertones and a hint of grip to finish.

                        Gambert de Loche Hermitage Rouge

This special cuvee, presented in a wooden box is dedicated to Louis Gambert de Loche (1884-1967), who originally owned this vineyard and founded the Cave de Tain, also playing an important role in the creation of the Hermitage 'appellation'. The wine has very intense, dark and rich colour; power-house nose giving off toasty oak and vanilla but also ripe wild black fruits, strong black-peppery spice and hints of earth and leather; rich, rustic and spicy in the mouth but also elegant in its length of flavour with relatively soft-ish tannins (but still complete and dry).
